I am still alive and kicking, despite not having published any posts lately. ;-)
I have started to contribute to Vanilla Forums 2.0, if you’re curious, you can check out my fork here.

Garden is very nice, I’m developing something similar based on the Yii framework.

Garden is nice but I prefer something based on a more powerful framework like Yii, the core manages permissions (based on Yii RBAC), URL routes, extensions etc. then it is pluggable like Garden, we can havve applications like “blog” etc.
Plug-ins hook into the platform using Yii Events etc.
I expect to have something working before May.
